Patricia S. Steen Braun

	Patricia S. (Pat) Steen Braun was born on October 17, 1938 in Hamstead Long Island, New York and departed this life at 4:00 a.m. October 15, 2001 at St. Marys Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.
	Pat married Donald K. Braun on January 28, 1956 and the couple have two daughters:  Constance Loraine (Connie) Egbert and her husband Floyd of Willisville and Cynthia Ellen Reidelberger and her husband, David, of Pinckneyville.  The Brauns have four grandchildren:  Shannon and her husband, Todd, Patrick and Chelsea and were eagerly awaiting the birth of their first great-grandchild in January 2002.  She also leaves to mourn her passing a brother:  Richard Steen and his wife, Jan, of Atlanta, Ga.; brother-in-law:  Fr. David Braun and nephew:  Mark Braun of Wendolyn; brother-in-law:  James Braun, wife Joyce and nieces, Gina and Debbie of Abbingdon, Va., as well as, her beloved mother-in-law:  Mrs. Georgia Braun.  She was preceded in death by her parents, father-in-law:  Leo Braun and brother-in-law:  Fr. Dean Braun.
	Pat was a past member of the Catholic Daughters; past member of the Junior Womens Club and a member of St. Bruno Catholic Church, Pinckneyville.
	She had a special love for the elderly and used her degree as a Licensed Practical Nurse in her career at the Jackson County Rehab and Nursing Center in Murphysboro.
	Pat was a quiet, self-sufficient, primarily happy woman, content in her lot as wife, mother, grandmother and in her chosen profession in the care of the aged and infirm.
	Her final illness and death was sudden and unexpected.  She will be sadly missed by her friends and family.  Now, though, we know that she has gone to and been joyously welcomed to a happier, lovelier place where there will be no more sickness and death.
	 Friends called at the St. Bruno Catholic Church on Wednesday, October 17 from 5 until 9 p.m. and on Thursday, October 18 from 8 a.m. until services.  Funeral services were held on Thursday at 10 a.m. in St. Bruno Catholic Church, Pinckneyville, with Fr. David Braun and Fr. John Venegoni officiating.  Interment was in St. Bruno Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to St. Bruno School or Breast Cancer Research Association.
	 Arrangements were by Pyatt-Harrawooed Funeral Home, Pinckneyville.
